Windsurfing: Golf Course Car park, Ynyslas Wind Direction: W-NW Wind Stength: 20-25 knots Surf / Sea State: 2-3 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 12ºC Sea Temperature: 17ºC Weather: Showers Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Back out after breakfast and by now the kiters had turned up at the beach
along with a few other windsurfers and the wind gone dead onshore and
picked up. I went out with the 5.7m again although would have much
preferred to have been on a 5m (unfortunately its broken!). Everyone else
was on 4.7-5.2m sails and having a good time. I still had a good session
despite being overpowered, but at least in the dead onshore wind I could
just blast up and down in the shallows and not have to do batle with the
big waves out the back.
I made loads of really good fully planing gybes though, mainly due to the
huge speed I had on entry to them, bearing away overpowered. After a while,
the wind dropped a little and went NW, so I was nicely powered up whilst
everyone else struggled. I had a few good wave rides whilst the wind was in
that direction, before calling it a day. The wind soon filled in again and
the sun came out though...So I might go out again later!
